Uptown Street Stewards

Volunteers helped clean up 45 bags worth of trash during the Garbage Olympics, September 18, 2021.

Uptown Street Stewards is an Uptown Partners program where residents can volunteer their time and adopt a block in Uptown to pick up litter once per week and help beautify the neighborhood.

Stewards are asked to spend 4 hours per month cleaning litter from their assigned block. That’s about 1 hour, 1 day a week. Volunteers can choose their own block or ask Uptown Partners which blocks are in need of stewardship. Uptown Partners can provide gloves, safety vests, and trash bags while supplies are available.

Volunteers can take photos of their hard work and will be featured on the Uptown Partners website and social media pages.

To sign up and become a Street Steward, or to submit photos, email Daschinique Johnson at djohnson@uptownpartners.org or call 412.522.8464.
